Inflorescences are formed finally on branches. The plant is monoecious and flowers are unisexual. Forming the fruits needs 90 days after flowering until the seeds are ripe. Plants are productive when they are of 4 to 5 months old. While complete productivity is reached at the age of 5 years with a production capacity of 5 to 6 kilos dry seed per tree per year. Flower and seed productivity is determined by rainfall, humidity and soil nutrition. Lack of nutrition causes less seed than anticipated. In contrary to the other countries like Africa and India, the plant gives in Indonesia the whole year fruit due to the high humidity and soil conditions.

Disclaimer and reservation

Outside the Indonesian territory, the fruit bearing is depending on the climate and soil conditions of the specific area/country. If there is only one rainy season during a year the fruit bearing (crop) will also one time per year. However, if irrigation is done in the right way the plant may give fruit up to 3 times per year.
